Puzata Hata “Darnitsa” Trading Center/ПУЗАТА ХАТА ТЦ Дарниця

The Puzata Hata restaurant chain is relatively young. The first restaurant was opened in 2003. The concept is simple but has proven successful: a large variety of typical Ukrainian dishes served on a self-service buffet for little money. By now, there are plenty of Puzata Hata restaurants in Kiev and in almost every major Ukrainian city. Puzata Hata is the right address if you're looking for something quick to eat on a budget. There are several restaurants in Kiev, some of which are located a bit further out, e.g. in shopping malls, but quite a few are in the very center. Each of the chain's restaurants is designed in a different style, according to its location. The interior is nothing special but mostly clean and pleasant. It's always very busy so don't expect a quiet and relaxing lunch or dinner when you come to Puzata Hata. Puzata Hata is the Ukrainian equivalent of McDonald's. As far as prices and time of service are concerned, anyways. The food is traditional Ukrainian, however, in fast food style. The restaurants website claims that every dish is prepared within 15 min max. The quality of the food is over all quite good, especially compared to what little you pay. You get a full lunch for $ 5–7. Customers recommend the beetroot salad, salad "Olivier", Chicken Kiev, or blinis. The meals are tasty, sometimes a bit heavy on the cream side, though. All in all, it's certainly not comparable to the pricier Ukrainian restaurants but its well worth its money!

Tips

Nice feature: In the Kiev restaurants, there is also an English explanation or every dish. So you'll actually know, what you're eating.
