Over the next few days, there will be another important conference in the place where the historic Yalta Conference brought together key figures such as the US American President Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Churchill and Stalin: on the Crimean Peninsula, which belongs to the Ukraine and where the Black Sea Economic Forum is currently convening. The countries bordering the Black Sea have come together here to discuss the future of the economic area. The opening speech at the event was held by Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov. In it, he emphasized the major economic importance attributed to the Black Sea in the region. Whereas the Yalta Conference aimed to bring “peace and stability to Europe”, today’s meeting is intended to result in successful commercial cooperation between the Black Sea countries.
